Saban Going To Alabama? We'll Know By Tuesday

The University of Alabama has reportedly made Nick Saban a formal offer: 8-10 years worth $40 Million.
An Alabama official said that a final yes or no from Saban was expected "within the next 24 hours." Which means we'll know the deal by Tuesday afternoon.
As reported by JD at SporTech Matter, Saban had a press conference today. It was a generic "day-after-the-season news conference" that was supposed to deal with the Dolphins offseason.
But reporters kept asking him about the Alabama job. And you can guess how it went from there.
He became his usual assholey-self and spewed the same rhetoric he's been spewing the last two weeks. The non-answer answer: "I'm committed to doing my job well here. This is my job. That's what I've done all day today, and that's what I'll continue to do."
Which to me means, "I've been given an offer and I'm seriously considering it. But I'm not gonna tell you that."
So, we'll know by tomorrow. Stay tuned here as I'll post something as soon as I find out.
Update: A source says that Saban and Alabama A.D. Mal Moore met earlier tonight to discuss the Crimson Tide job.

I do not know if this is true but...

From Fox 6 in Birmingham.

Saban has requested a no fire clause be added to his Miami Contract for the last 3 years. WH refused...

Saban is about to get ran out of Miami.

Wow. I havent heard that.

The biggest worry I have if Sabin goes is that it might mean Jason Taylor decides to retire. And that would be a bigger loss for us.

Eh. I'm pretty indifferent on this whole situation.

If he goes, whatever. It's not the end of the world. There are some intriguing and worthy HC candidates out there.

Cam Cameron
Ken Whisenhunt
Ron Rivera

Also, I get the sense Huizenga would finally stop giving the next HC complete and total control and finally hire a GM to handle the personnel. Which is long overdue.

Great point, BP. They already have Mueller so hopefully he gets more power in personnel decisions, even if Saban elects to stay. We'll see ...

Doug, I fear the same thing.

Personally I don't think he's going. I think he has to entertain the offer but ultimately I think he wants to stay and finish the job here in Miami.
